TRANSFERS

A transfer is the exchange of a firearm from one person or entity to another person or entity.

1. The firearm is logged into the gun shop from a person or FFL Dealer.
2. The firearm can be shipped in by UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS or other transportation service.  However, they are not allowed to be shipped by USPS Regulations thru the postal system depending on firearm type.
3. They can also be carried into the shop, it is always a good idea to enter the shop without the firearm and announce your interest in bringing a firearm in, this should allow for a longer life.
4. Firearm transferred to another dealer: The receiving FFL Dealer needs to supply a valid, current copy of their FFL License to the shipping FFL Dealer.  Then the firearm can be handed to (if in store) or shipped to the address on the dealers FFL License.
5. Firearm transferred to a person from NH:  The person shall complete a form 4473.  This allows the shop to submit your information to NH State Police for a pistol/revolver purchase or FBI-NICS for a rifle/shotgun purchase.  When the background check is completed and a proceed is given, we can complete the firearm transfer to the customer.

• NH Resident to NH Resident in store transfer (Recommended for a private sale of a firearm to create a paper trail that can be traced by the ATF to prove you no longer possess the firearm)
• NH Resident to Non-NH Resident transfer, shipped by FFL to Non-Resident's choice of FFL Dealer in Non-Residents State (Recommended for a private sale of a firearm to create a paper trail that can be traced by the ATF to prove you no longer possess the firearm)
• Out of State purchase by a NH Resident shipped to the NH FFL Dealer (to complete the 4473 and background check required by law)
• Online purchase by a NH Resident (to complete the 4473 and background check required by law)

For all transfer types of firearms covered under "Type 1 - Dealer Firearms other than destructive devices (includes Gunsmiths) the fee for each firearm is $50.00. (Effective 10/30/2023)
